I couldn’t have asked for the end of Fashion Basel to come any sooner. Exhaustion had settled in long before the last day, but I was looking forward to the events of the evening regardless. A trooper is a trooper does.
As most of the major events came earlier in the week, I decided to stick to Chloe’s Anniversary Soiree and Mr. Brainwash’s Exhibition which couldn’t have been more opposite.
Chloe celebrated their 60th Anniversary in the penthouse of the Soho Beach House. They commissioned artists to create pieces that reflected the essence of Chloe. Below are a couple of the simple, feminine pieces that caught my eye. Shortly after, I made my way to Mr. Brainwash’s exhibit of his playful contemporary art. I was a big fan of the “Je t’aime” piece as well as the Michael Jackson quad piece. Always super Warhol inspired, Mr. Brainwash delivered all his crafts in a room where the words “Life is Beautiful” rang high.
Overall, it was a very successful Basel with many people in tow and new faces becoming friends. My only concern at that point was – “How am I going to condense all that happened in the last week into 500 words?” It started with 800 by luckily I found a way. Just in case you didn’t have a chance to read my wrap up on “Fashion Basel” for the New York Post, here it is: Fashion Basel by Nausheen Shah – Bisous NYS
