Dishes as Art
Trash your old plates and get in with the new. There is nothing more boring than having your home-cooked meals served in a basic round dish. You dig?
I figure if you are going to buy dishes, why not buy the ones with the most attitude. Well, I found the vessels that will not only make your cuisine pop, but will also catch the attention of your design savvy guests.
These masters of the trade are Villeroy & Boch. Their design is ingenious, functional and timeless. Within their variety of collections stemming from tableware all the way to bathrooms, my personal favorite dinnerware designs are the Cera Collection, Urban Nature Collection and the Flow Collection (my winner).
If the price tag scares you, a great alternative would be dishes from CB2. They are a fraction of the cost, also innovative but just bit more playful. I personally own the Steel Snack Bowls, but am also a fan of the Nagoya 3 Part Server, Bento Dinnerware and Lounge Bowl Server (perfect for soups and sandwiches).
Let’s just say either way you go, the next time you have guests over for dinner, you won’t have to worry about the presentation of your fare, the dishware will do all the work for you. Bisous NYS
