Christian Louboutin, Harpers Bazaar, Terrywood & Moncler 60th Anniversary at Fashion Basel
Perhaps my favorite night at Fashion Basel, Friday night was destined to top my Art Basel experience – not just by the list of flashy events, but by the friends I knew I would be seeing along the way.
It all started with Christian Louboutin (don’t you wish every sentence began that way?) where the design district boutique was exhibiting Ye Hongxing’s dream world sticker collage’s. Bright and cheery with a childhood playfulness, it was utterly impossible not to be drawn to the pieces. Unfortunately Monsieur Louboutin was not in attendance but we made the most of it by sipping on champagne, saying our ‘hello’ and ‘how do you do’s’ and jetting off to the next soiree.
On the other side of the street, Glenda Bailey was hosting a ShopBazaar.com pop-up shop featuring niblets from our favorite New York Chef, John Delucie (at least my favorite chef!). A wall lined with computers supplied guests with all they would need to shop while Mia Moretti and Caitlain Moe spun tunes to make the experience that much more enjoyable. Apparently there was a shuffleboard where you could win gift cards which I sadly missed.
Just in between the Design District and South Beach, lies the oh so cool Standard Hotel which served as the obvious host for Terry Richardson’s book signing “Terrywood.” Laid back with green as the choice color for appetizers, I luckily ran into my good ole fashion week gang which made the party feel like home.
BUT the ultimate event of the evening, or better said, of the entire Art Basal was Moncler’s 60th Anniversary celebration. The top floor of 1111 Lincoln Road was the site for white. The decadence span from streaming white lighting to white hydrangeas to the guests even exiting in winter white floor length Moncler capes. Moncler truly succeeded in exuding what their brand stands for - opulence. If you wanted to see and be seen, you couldn’t have choosen a better event.
The evening ended with all the guests trailing to Le Baron, also the after party for Moncler… and the rest I will leave to your imagination… Here are my pictures up until then – Bisous NYS
