Real Luxury and Urban Charleston was the inspiration for Brunello Cucinelli’s Fall/Winter 2012 Collection. This season, he uses the rhythm of the twenties to create a collection that blends contemporary moods with echos of the past expressed through forties-style geometric motifs, seventies nuances, and the rocker chick look of the eighties.
There is not a more perfect way to describe a Cucinelli woman for this season other than a “contemporary flapper traveling through time in search of a new balance through sweatshirts, prints, flowing dresses, elegant collars, and brushed leather punk combat boots.”
I have to admit, I have been slightly obsessed with Brunello Cucinelli lately and getting the chance to meet Mr. Cucinelli himself as well as take a detailed tour of the up and coming collection was quite exciting. I am always inspired by the way they style their pieces as well as their soft and feminine color stories.
My stand out pieces were the velvet Palazzo Pants, fur tees with feather details, menswear inspired outerwear and all the different styles of collars. I am saying it now – the new must have accessory is a COLLAR. Whether it is white cotton, metal or embroidered, it is one of my favorite accessories at the moment. My #1 designer for the perfect collar accessory is Delfina Delettrez.
Here are my pictures from the presentation. Of course I had to include the spread of delicious foods they served because first, they were so yummy and second – the layout was just so charming.
I have much more to report from Milano so stay tuned! Bacini NYS
