Au Revoir 2012 – Bienvenue 2013
First let me start by saying – HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!
I can’t believe how quickly 2012 flew by. I feel so blessed and fortunate for the lessons learned and new experiences received. 2012 was one of the most formative years of my life and I only hope I can multiple the inspiration and perspiration for 2013.
I wanted to put together a little ‘wrap-up’ of 2012 with some of my most memorable moments. You can only imagine how long it took for me to go through all my pictures over the past year – I practically relived it. So many memories… so many beautiful souls… Thanks to my friends and family for being my constant motivation in seeking out my dreams and making them a part of my reality. Sending you all love, success and happiness for 2013! Bisous NYS

One of the most exciting parts of last year was being recognized for my style. And not by just anyone, I appeared on Vogue (a dream), Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Stockholm Streetstyle, NY Mag and many others. As I look up to all these publications and websites, it is an honor to even be associated with them.

As a little girl I dreamed to attend Fashion Week around the world – sitting next to editors, watching the latest artistic pieces of clothing glide along the catwalk. Sometimes I pinch myself wondering how did I get here. Special thanks to Erica Pelosini, Olivia Palermo and Serena French for believing in my talent and guiding me on my journey.

If you build it, the press will come – From Japanese to Swedish Mags, Town & Country to Gotham Magazine, I found myself in the most random published spots. Still finding each one of them quite exciting, I would have to say one of my greatest accomplishments of 2012 was becoming a Fashion and Luxury Travel Contributor for the New York Post thanks to my editors Serena French and Andy Wang.

Traveling has it’s perks – gaining weight is not one of them! I love to eat, as you can see, so it is always essential for me to research restaurants no matter where I go. The incredible restaurants from Marseille, Barcelona, Amalfi Coast, Sicily, Miami and even plain ole NYC left memorable flavors in my bouche and vibrant pictures on my iphone.

A trip of a lifetime! I will be the first to say I am lucky – damn lucky! The places I have been able to explore in my life are unimaginable. BUT definitely on the top of my list was my 3 week sailing excursion around the Amalfi Coast, Aeolian Islands and Sicily this past summer. There is nothing better than smiling for 3 weeks straight thanks to my Italian/Dutch family!

Another reason why I am where I am today is widely due to the talented photographers I have had the opportunity to worked with. Thai Neave, Sammy Angus, Zandy Mangold, Ryan Keeley and Ed Kavishe – thank you all for taking the time to shoot with me in some of the craziest environments all in order to get ‘that’ shot.

And last, but certainly not the most trivial – the people that I have met along the way. Some people whom I look up to, some who I never thought would come back into my life or just come in at all – meeting new souls is always one of the most rewarding parts of life and the one I look the most forward to. It’s been a pleasure!
